Greta Giarola is currently a PhD student at DTU Energy, Technical University of Denmark. Her research focuses on the development of catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), with particular emphasis on reducing iridium usage. The work covers the synthesis and performance analysis of catalysts with low iridium loading, ranging from iridium-lean to completely iridium-free materials.
During her stay in our group, Greta will investigate the stability of selected catalysts at HI ERN, focusing on 3d-metal mixed spinel oxides. These materials will be studied using a scanning flow cell (SFC) coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), enabling real-time monitoring of dissolution processes under electrochemical operating conditions. A high-throughput approach will be used to efficiently screen many compositions.
