Back to team

After working as a doctoral researcher in the group of Dr. Serhiy Cherevko from 2020 to 2025, Matej Zlatar continues his work at HIERN as a postdoctoral researcher. During his PhD, he investigated dissolution mechanisms and the stability of electrocatalysts, with a particular focus on iridium-based materials and catalyst supports for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) under acidic conditions. His work also contributed to the development and evaluation of benchmarking approaches for assessing electrocatalyst activity and stability.

In his postdoctoral research, Matej builds on the fundamental understanding gained during his PhD and applies it to more application-oriented questions. He studies dissolution and degradation processes in realistic catalyst layers under relevant operating conditions, with the aim of improving their stability.
